National Cadet Corps (NCC) 

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research stands as a beacon of discipline, leadership, and service to the nation and humanity, fostering global citizenship aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Established to inspire youth towards nation-building and global responsibility, the Navy unit was launched in 2018 under the 1(TN) Naval Unit, Fort St. George, Chennai, and the Army unit followed in 2019 under the 1(TN) Medical Unit, Park Town, Chennai. Today, SRIHER proudly nurtures 104 cadets (52 in the Army wing and 52 in the Navy wing), drawn from the 15 constituent colleges, shaping future leaders equipped with the skills, discipline, and humanitarian values necessary to make a global impact.

Outstanding Achievements of SRIHER NCC Cadets

1. Senior Under Officer Adam Safiullah completed Pre-Inter Group Competition (IGC), securing 3rd place in obstacle training.

2. Cadet Under Officer Thomas Fermin & Senior Under Officer Tejishwini S completed Thal Sainik Camp Training I & II.

3. Company Sergeant Major Varshini won 1st place in the firing competition at CATC.

4. Cadet Captain Mohammed Sharukh attended Ship Attachment Camp at Kochi, winning 2nd place in firing at Cado Alpha.

5. Petty Officer Cadet Puja & Petty Officer Cadet Kishore represented SRIHER in IGC Shooting Camp and IUC Camp.

6. Senior Under Officer Saran. S completed the Thal Sainik Camp Inter Group Competition conducted by 1 TN Battalion in July 2024.

7. Cadet Under Officer Dushitha and Cadet Under Officer Jeevika R J, Completed Republic Day Contingent Camp Inter Group Competition conducted by Chennai ‘B’ Group in NTA Idayapatti, Madurai in October 2024.

8. Cadet Under Officer Jeevika R J, Attended the Marina Republic Day parade conducted by 13 TN Battalion in Presidency college, Chennai in January 2025.

9. Cadet Samiksha S, Secured 1st place in Contingent Drill, 2nd place in Firing and 3rd place in 800 meters Running at CATC camp conducted by 1TN Signal Company NCC in Air Force Station, Tambaram, Chennai in December 2024.

10. Leading Cadet Eshaa Sumesh and Cadet Captain Ernest were awarded the Best cadet award in the CATC conducted by 1 TN Naval unit Chengalpattu in January 2024.

11. Cadet Captain Ernest secured 3rd place in firing in the CATC camp conducted by 1 TN Naval Unit in October 2024 at Jeppiar College, Chennai.

12. Cadets of Army and Navy Wing secured 1st place in Group Dance, 1st place in Flag Area & Best MC, 3rd place in Debate & 3rd place in Solo performance, in the 3rd CADO Guru event conducted in March 2024 by Guru Nanak College, Chennai.

13. Cadets of Army and Navy Wing secured 3rd place in Group Song and 2nd place in Treasure hunt in the 42nd CADO Fest conducted in March 2024 by DG Vishinava College, Chennai. 

14.  Cadets of Army and Navy Wing secured 3rd place in Group Dance, 3rd place in Quiz and 2nd place in Group Dance in the 43rd  CADO Fest event  conducted in January 2025 by DG Vishinava College, Chennai.
