Founder’s days and university day celeberation

GOLD MEDALS, AWARDS MARK SRI RAMACHANDRA FOUNDER’S & UNIVERSITY DAY EVENT

The 40th Founder’s Day and University Day celebrations of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) were held in Chennai on 20th September 2025, marking the 90th Birth Anniversary of the Founder Chancellor, Sri N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar. The event was a grand tribute to the vision and legacy of the Founder, with gold medals, awards, and recognitions presented to staff, students, teachers, and researchers for their outstanding achievements and contributions. For meritorious performance in MBBS, Ms. P.R. Veena and Dr. Sanjana V. received three gold medals each, while 33 students were awarded gold medals and 67 students received cash prizes for academic excellence.

A total of 333 employees were honoured with gold medals and cash awards in recognition of their dedicated service and contributions to the institution. Dr. Uma Sekar, Vice Chancellor, and Dr. G. Usha Rani, Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, were conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Dr. P.M. Venkata Sai, Professor of Radiology, received the Mentoring Excellence Award. The Outstanding Service Award was presented to Mr. S. Elumalai, Deputy General Manager, Mr. B. Arockianathan, Mr. N. Subramanian, and Mr. G. David from the Department of Anatomy, and Mr. V. Vengaiah and Mr. Chinnayogiah, Mortuary Health Assistants, for their exemplary service and commitment.

The awards were distributed by Mr. V.R. Venkataachalam, Chancellor, Mr. R.V. Sengutuvan, Pro Chancellor, and Ms. Samyuktha Venkataachalam, Trustee, Sri Ramachandra Educational & Health Trust. Gold medals and recognitions were also given to the best teachers, nurses, research scholars, sportspersons, NSS & NCC volunteers, and alumni. Staff completing long years of dedicated service were honoured for their loyalty and contribution. Dr. S. Thanikachalam, Chairman & Director, Cardiac Care Centre and former Vice Chancellor, paid rich tributes to the Founder Chancellor. Dr. Uma Sekar, Vice Chancellor, welcomed the gathering and expressed gratitude to all members of SRIHER for their continued excellence and commitment.
