Function and Responsibility of Students Services Centre (SSC).

A. Objectives:

  1. Monitoring all student services activities at SRIHER to ensure a holistic, secure, and supportive campus environment that enhances academic, personal, and professional development.
  2. Coordinating and monitoring the various Student Welfare Committees like Student Grievances, Anti-Ragging, Equal Opportunity Cell, SC/ST Cell, Anti- Discrimination, and etc., to offer comprehensive services to the students.
  3. Comprehensively examining all issues relating to students’ mental health and physical, psychological and emotional well-being on the campus.
  4. Providing standardized, systematic arrangements to provide requisite support to students, especially from rural backgrounds, female students, students from divergent cultural backgrounds and students with special needs.
  5. Motivating the students to understand their inner calling and realize their aspirations and dreams by providing opportunities related to academic and co-curricular activities having linkages with society and ecology through field training, placement activities, educational tours, summer internships and cultural activities.

B. Responsibilities:

  1. To provide professional counselling, mentoring systems and wellness programs for emotional and psychological well-being to all the students with special emphasis on
    i. Promoting physical fitness and sports activities for students.
    ii. Creating safeguards against academic pressure, peer pressure, behavioural issues, stress, career concerns, depression and other issues on the mental health of students.
    iii. To teach positive thinking & emotions in the student community.
    iv. To promote a positive and supportive network for students.
  2. To have sufficient number of dedicated, professionally trained counsellors working under SSC. The counsellors can also be taken from the Psychology and Physical Education Departments.
  3. Physio-Psychological assessment tools can be used to assess the students, guide them and provide necessary counselling interventions to make them feel enabled, energized and independent functionaries capable of pursuing their career goals.
  4. To create the necessary outdoor and indoor sports facilities and infrastructure and state-of-art gymnasium and yoga centre in the campus.
  5. To strengthen the NSS, NCC and other club activities in order to engage students meaningfully.
  6. To ensure the confidentiality of each case of student- teacher counselling on mental health issues.
  7. To regularly organize Motivational lectures and other activities promoting positive thinking among the students.
  8. The records of various activities of SSC must be maintained properly and be made available to NAAC, NBA, NIRF, etc., as and when required. The Activities of SSC should be included in the Annual Report of the institution.

C. Maintenance of Records / Reports:

  1. The Students Services Centre (SSC) will maintain records of all physical and mental health related services offered to the students.
  2. The activities report of all Student Welfare Committees are to be submitted to Students Services Centre (SSC) periodically. The Students Services Centre (SSC) should submit the cumulative report to the higher officials on monthly basis.
  3. To publish reports of the activities of Students Services Centre (SSC) and the support system for students' physical and mental health on the university website periodically and also in the admission brochures.

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell is reconstituted with effect from 17th February, 2023 as under.
