SRIHER’s support for International Students

Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) actively embraces and supports its diverse international student population, offering a range of services and resources. International students are integrated into the student community and academic programs. Participation in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities like NSS, NCC, sports, and Rotaract Club is encouraged. 

Support systems

  • International Student Support Committee: Chaired by the Dean (students), this committee addresses the specific needs of international students and includes representatives from faculty, administration, wardens, and international students themselves.
  • International Relations Office: This is the central point of contact for international students at SRIHER and handles:
  • Admissions for international students (foreign nationals and NRIs).Including guidance throughout the chosen program of study, specialized student counseling services, referrals to relevant contacts, and advice regarding enrollment and Confirmation of admission.
  • Pre-arrival support: support  with information on accommodation, insurance, fees, visas, and what to expect.
  • International student orientation to the campus and hostels.
  • Compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Facilitates international collaborations including  MOUs for academics  and research, twinning and joint programs  
  • Mobility (inbound and outbound) programs.
  • Student and faculty exchange programs 
  • International Hostel (NRI Hostel): SRIHER offers separate, comfortable, and well-designed hostel facilities for male and female international students. Wardens are available to address issues related to international students. The chief warden and assistant wardens, can be contacted for specific queries. 
  • Orientation programs: Designed to provide practical support and information, these programs also encourage international students to get to know one another. 

FRRO registration requirements

  • Foreign nationals,( registered students, and observers/trainees/interns) must register  online at the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 24 hours of checking into the hostel/guest house complex on campus.
  • Registration must be completed online via the e-FRRO portal: http://www.indianfrro.gov.in/eservices/home.jsp.

Students are responsible for bearing any costs associated with FRRO registration

In short, SRIHER endeavours to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for its international students, with resources and systems in place to assist with both academic and personal needs, as well as ensure compliance with official regulations.
