The 28th Hospital ward technician’s graduation ceremony was held at Sri Ramachandra
Institute of Higher Education and Research here today. 50 students were presented certificates
and prizes.
The chief guest Dr.V.Amalan Stanley, Good Laboratory Practices consultant and Vice
Chairman, Scientific and Academic Board, International Institute of Biotechnology and
Toxicology, Padappai, Chennai said the specialised skills they have received will help fulfil the
confidence of the patients that the hospital they go to will cure them of their illness. Their services
are as crucial as doctors, paramedics and nurses he added.
Speaking on the occasion Dr.Uma Sekar, Vice Chancellor said SRIHER will soon start
three specialised courses for ward technicians in geriatric care, paediatric care and infant care and
home care, of three months duration for further specialisation.
Dr. K.V. Somasundaram, Advisor Academic, Dr. K. Balaji Singh, Dean, Medical College,
Dr. S. Senthil Kumar, Additional Registrar, Dr. T.V. Ramakrishnan, Principal, Faculty of Allied
Health Sciences and Mr. A. Abuthayar, Professor and Coordinator, Hospital Ward Technician
Course were among those who participated in the event.
