Project Title:

Generate Medical Imaging Datasets (MIDAS) for Tobacco-Induced Oral Lesions to Enhance Research in Health in India

Digital Oral Pathology Lab

The MIDAS Lab focuses on digitizing glass slides of oral lesions and securely storing associated patient data.
A key goal is converting histopathology images into DICOM standards, enabling a shift from traditional glass slides
to a digital slide repository. This transformation supports academic learning and secondary research.
Our lab is equipped with a digital microscope connected to a desktop system for storing permanent digital slide copies.
Digital slides foster collaboration and improve diagnostic access, ensuring that patients—even in remote areas—can benefit
from expert pathological opinions, ultimately enhancing patient care.
