My academic journey began with a Basic B.Sc. in Nursing from Rani Meyiammai College of Nursing, Rajah Muthiah Institute of Health Sciences, Annamalai University, which I completed from October 1991 to December 1995. I then pursued an M.A. in Population Studies from Annamalai University’s Directorate of Distance Education between 1997 and 1999. Following this, I earned an M.Sc. in Nursing, specializing in Community Health Nursing with a sub-specialization in Maternal and Child Health Nursing, from Sri Ramachandra College of Nursing, Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, from June 2001 to May 2003. I further advanced my education with a Ph.D. in Nursing from Sri Ramachandra University, which I completed from October 2005 to March 2013.
In terms of my professional career, I am currently serving as a Professor and Head of the Department of Community Health Nursing at Sri Ramachandra College of Nursing, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU), Chennai, a position I have held since October 2022. Prior to this, I served as Reader/Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Community Health Nursing at Sri Ramachandra College of Nursing, Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, from February 2018 to October 2022. My earlier roles include Reader/Associate Professor in Nursing (September 2008 to February 2018), Assistant Professor in Nursing (October 2006 to September 2008), Lecturer in Nursing (August 2003 to October 2006), and Nursing Tutor in Nursing at Sri Ramachandra College of Nursing, Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai (from May 2003 to July 2003 and July 1996 to June 2001).
Throughout my career, I have been committed to advancing nursing education and research, particularly in the areas of Community Health Nursing and Maternal and Child Health Nursing.
