Dr Renuka, graduated from Kilpauk Medical College in 1994 and went on to specialise in Anesthesiology also from the same Institute. She worked in Anesthesiology department in Manipal Hospital Bangalore where she also completed her training for D.N.B, Anaesthesiology. She joined SRMC & RI in 2000 in the Anesthesiology department and took up critical care as her field of interest since then. Her aim is to provide quality and comprehensive critical care using cutting edge technology to critically ill patients. She also focuses to train medical and paramedical students and carryout meaningful research in Critical Care Medicine especially in Nutrition in critical illness, Obstetric critical care ,Renal Replacement therapy and Ultrasound in ICU. She has been mentoring and guiding DM postgraduates and Ph.D Candidates in our university.
She has been instrumental in starting the B.sc (AHS) Critical Care Technology, M.sc (AHS) Critical Care Technology and Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care Course.
She has started and conducted an online certificate course in Patient Safety in Adult ICU s in collaboration with AHPI and HIQT
She actively contributes towards patient safety, clinical research, mortality audits being a member in several committees of the university.
