It was my PG Head of Department Dr. Harshala Rajkumar who Kindled my interest and inspired me in pursuing my career in this esteemed University and I have completed 20 Years as a teaching staff and health care professional (i.e., Nutritionist) . With God’s Grace, I have successfully completed my Ph.D. from Bharathiar University, under the supervision of Dr.A.J.Hemamalini (Professor and Head, Department of Clinical Nutrition, SRIHER (DU). I have a solid teaching record and also have extensive research experience with an excellent track record of publications including UGC –CARE-LIST GROUP –I & II and Web of Science indexed journal, book chapters and patents are filed. I had organized a plethora of activities as the out-reach coordinator notably Dietetic Day, World Food Day, Breast Feeding Week, National Nutrition Month ,World Hepatic and Diabetic Day and many others. I am a hardworking, honest individual and always enthusiastic to learn and undertake new challenges. I am an excellent team worker and am able to take instructions from all levels and build up good working relationships with all colleagues. What this study add?
Extensive research evidence from various part of the country conceive that Waist -to -Height Ratio is a better indicator for Central/Abdominal Obesity .This Study also highlights that Waist-to-Height Ratio is more predictive than using a matrix based on BMI in rural and urban Chennai Population.
