Bio

Dr. G. Dicky John Davis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research (SRIHER), Porur, Chennai. He holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Sri Ramachandra University, where his thesis focused on the chemoinformatics-driven anticancer potential of marine algae, cataloging chemical compounds and predicting potential inhibitors through molecular docking and QSAR studies. With over two decades of teaching and research experience, Dr. Dicky has significantly contributed to areas such as metagenomic and transcriptomic analysis, QSAR, molecular docking and dynamics studies, database development, and data mining of natural compounds. His academic journey includes an M.Phil. in Biotechnology, M.Sc. in Molecular Biology, and a B.Sc. in Microbiology, complemented by diplomas in Bioinformatics and Advanced Medical Laboratory Technology. He has authored over 28 peer-reviewed journal publications and two book chapters, participated in numerous national and international conferences, and contributed as a reviewer for prestigious journals. He has also mentored several Ph.D., postgraduate, and undergraduate students. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Dicky is passionate about developing bioinformatics tools, engaging in public speaking, and contributing to scientific literature through research and reviews.

Insilico studies with different Unani formulations

To computationally assess the interaction of four different Unani formulations namely Triyaq-e-Wabai, Novel Unani formulation, Triyaq-e-Arba and Arq Ajeeb containing 40 phytoconstituents against two SARS-CoV-2 proteins namely spike glycoprotein and main protease (Mpro) that are essential to the transmission and virulence of the virus.
