Dr. Amudhu Sankar is currently working as Assistant Professor, of Faculty of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research (SRIHER- Deemed University), Chennai, India. She also serves as a Senior Consultant Speech Language Pathologist at Sri Ramachandra Medical University Hospital. She is a qualified Hanen certified Speech Language Pathologist. She has completed her under graduation from SRIHER (DU) in 2002, and post-graduation from MAHE, Manipal in 2004. She received her Ph.D. in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences (Specialty area: Pragmatic language skills in typically developing children) from Sri Ramachandra University. In the year 2018-19.
Her area of clinical focus and research are fluency and its disorders and child language disorders. She has been involved in conducting group therapy for children with language disorders and stuttering. She has been coordinating in various awareness programs (Autism awareness and stuttering awareness day). Also, she is involved in conducting speech and language awareness programs for school teachers. She has published research articles and has a book chapter on assessment of stuttering. She has guided 11 PG dissertations and three Summer Research fellowships till date.
She is currently the President (2023-25) of the Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Alumni Association, Life member of Indian Speech – Language and Hearing Association, and Tamil Nādu Indian Speech – Language and Hearing Association. She served as the Department coordinator for NAAC from 2007-2017 and a Member of SDG committee at SRIHER(DU).
Current area of research are Fluency and its disorders and Child language disorders.
Has published research articles and has a book chapter on assessment of stuttering.
Has guided 12 PG dissertations and three Summer Research fellowships till date.
