Dr. B.Sathya prabha graduated from Government college of physiotherapy ,Trichy and MPT- Specialized in physiotherapy in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.Obtained under graduation and post graduation degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University, Chennai,Tamilnadu. Awarded PhD in women’s health by 2018 at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research,(Deemed to be University).Completed Certication in lymphedema rehabilitation from TATA Memorial,Mumbai -2023.Have served as lecturer and Assistant professor at faculty of physiotherapy ,Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute,Porur,Chennai from 2006 till 2018 March, Associate Professor from 2018-2023 .Currently holds a position as Professor and Head of the Department,Department of women’s Health , faculty of physiotherapy, SRIHER.Contributed for post graduate curriculum development-MPT Women’s Health , Fellowship in oncology rehabilitation ,MPT Oncology rehabilitation and undergraduate curriculum. Specialized in antenatal classes ,postnatal exercises, musculoskeletal issues associated with pregnancy and postpartum. Passionate in the field of women’s health advancement in physiotherapy. Had been Resource person as various women’s health related conferences and workshops.Conducted various women’s health related community screening camps and programs. Research interest – Pelvic floor rehabilitation, musculoskeletal issues during perinatal and menopausal period, Mastectomy rehabilitation.Has about 18 publications in reputed journals and reviewed articles in indexed Journals .PhD Guide since 2021.Received intramural grant -summer chancellor fellowship-2019, Gate project-2023,Extramural grant -Nidhi Prayas-2023.Handling classes for UG and PG women’s Health and fellowship in oncology rehabilitation students in physiotherapy. Other than academic routines, mentoring UG students and guiding UG / PG students in research activities such as paper and poster presentations.
Research interest – Pelvic floor rehabilitation, Menopausal health, Mastectomy rehabilitation, Pelvic girdle pain.
It is a DST project worth 8,00,000 INR. Project aims to design and validate Trans abdominal pelvic floor biofeedback device .
