Bio

 I have done my MBBS and MD- Internal Medicine. After a short stint at the Department of General Medicine in Sir Ivan Stedford Hospital (Chennai), I joined the faculty of the Department of General Medicine at Sri Ramachandra Medical College in 2007. I have 18 years of teaching, clinical and research experience in the field of Internal Medicine. Apart from my undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, I continue to be active in the clinical practice and research work in the department. My wide range of interests covering many areas of Internal Medicine including Infectious diseases, Diabetes Mellitus, Chronic Kidney Disease, Genetics in Medicine – health and disease. In addition I am interested in developing research projects from the clinical perspective across a variety of medical conditions. I have authored few chapters and served as Associate editor for a book titled “Treatment Protocol of common Medical Outpatient Conditions”. I have over 23 conference paper presentations, 53 national and international publications with 216 citations. I serve as peer reviewer for 10 Pubmed and Scopus indexed journal and I am an Editorial member for 2 Pubmed indexed journals. I love to teach and guide undergraduate and post graduate students and do my part to kindle their interest in research. I have guided around 20 student research projects both under and post graduate students so far.
