Dr.P.Vijayasamundeeswari, born on 27.02.1978, and currently working as a Lecturer in Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Nursing, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research Institute (Deemed to be University) with 22 years of experience in the academic field, specializing in Paediatric Nursing. Her academic journey began with a B.Sc (Nursing) from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. This strong educational foundation was further solidified by her M.Sc nursing Degree in Paediatric Nursing, from Meenakshi University and PhD in Nursing from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research Institute (Deemed to be University. She conducted extensive research on the “Effectiveness of autogenic training on biophysiological status, psychological distress and quality of life among mothers with intellectually disabled children”.
Her teaching career commenced at Anbarasu School of Nursing as a Nursing, Tutor here she developed and delivered comprehensive curricula in Nursing Foundations, Paediatric Nursing, and Obstetrics and Midwifery Nursing. This role allowed her to refine pedagogical techniques and engage with students from diverse backgrounds, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. She later joined as Nursing Tutor in Rotary school of Nursing ,completed her Higher education and Joined as a Lecturer at Dr.MGR College of Nursing and continued her teaching profession at Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Nursing from 2009 to till date In this capacity, She has designed and implemented innovative teaching strategies that cater to varied learning styles, integrating technology and real-world applications to enhance student understanding and retention.
Her commitment to student success extends beyond the classroom, as she actively mentor students, guiding them through academic challenges and career planning. She has also been involved in several departmental initiatives, such as a Nursing Education Unit member, Transcript incharge , Biometric incharge and Safety committee member .She has received best paper award , best teaching excellence award as a team in nursing education and also got best research award for publishing article with high impact factor journal.
She has strong advocate for professional development and continuous learning, regularly attending workshops, conferences, and pursuing certifications in Nursing education, service and research. These opportunities have enabled her to stay abreast of the latest educational trends and incorporate best practices into her teaching. Additionally, she actively contributed to academic literature, publishing papers on adolescent and child care , which have been well-received by the academic community.
