Bio

Dr G Pitchaimani is Assistant Professor in Sociology at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research [DU], Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He received his Ph.D. from Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He has an undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy [BPT], Master of Science [M.Sc] in Medical Sociology and Post Graduate Diploma in NGO Management.

Before joining SRIHER, he was worked as a Physiotherapist (Research) at The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Purulia (West Bengal), Physiotherapist & Social Worker (Research) at The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Kolkata (West Bengal) and Physiotherapist (Head of the Department) at The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Purulia (West Bengal) . He has been involved in several research studies [Clinical and Social Research].

As an author and co-author, he has published widely on clinical and social research in leprosy in leading peer reviewed international journal. Till now he has published 45 articles. Out of 45 articles, 36 articles indexed in WoS/Scopus/Pubmed.  Also, he was invited as reviewer and he has reviewed articles from the journals of Leprosy Review, The Lancet, PLOS One, Disability CBR & Inclusive, Journal of Poverty and Social Justice, Patients Preference and Adherence, BMC Health Service Research, Scientific Reports, Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare, Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies and Journal of Rhipaha college of Rehabilitation Sciences.
