Bio

Ms. Jasmine Lydia Selvaraj (RCI CRR #A12223) is an Assistant Professor and a Consultant Speech Language Pathologist in the Department of Speech Language Pathology at the Faculty of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. She obtained her undergraduate and graduate degree in Speech and Hearing from the JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing, University of Mysore, Mysuru. She also pursued a Master’s in Business Administration (Hospital Management) from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Currently, Ms. Selvaraj is pursuing her doctoral degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences (speciality area: dysphagia in patients with head and neck cancer) from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU). She has over 13 years of teaching, research, and clinical experience.
She has completed hands-on training in Head and Neck Rehabilitation—Speech and swallowing certificate course (Langmore FEES & Laryngectomy Rehabilitation Course) from TATA Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She is also a Hanen certified Speech Language Pathologist (It Takes Two To Talk & More Than Words). She has facilitated parent empowerment programs for families of children with communication difficulties. She has also completed a course on ‘Introduction to PROMPTS’ by Karin Brinkmann conducted by Bridging Talents Singapore and attended the workshop on ‘Picture Exchange Communication System’ PECS conducted by Bridging Talents Singapore.

Ms. Jasmine’s areas of clinical practice and research are dysphagia in head and neck cancer, stroke rehabilitation, swallowing and feeding in children, voice and professional voice users, and language intervention for autism spectrum disorders. Given her transdisciplinary interests, she works closely with the Department of Oncology, ENT, Neurology, Radiological Imaging, and Paediatrics at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre in providing services. Additionally, she currently serves on a team tasked with establishing the Sri Ramachandra Rehabilitation Centre, specialised in stroke multidisciplinary rehabilitation. Ms. Jasmine has published research works and has presented at various regional, state, national, and international conferences. She is also invited as a resource person and a guest speaker at various events. She has mentored many students in their dissertations and guided them in scholarly endeavours.
