Dr. P.A. Abhinand is an accomplished bioinformatics researcher with expertise in chemoinformatics, systems biology, structural bioinformatics, and next-generation sequencing. He earned his PhD in Bioinformatics from the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Technology & Research at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) in 2018. Prior to that, he completed his M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from the same institution in 2010, following his B.Sc. in Biotechnology from Kumara Rani Meena Muthiah College, University of Madras, in 2008. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at SRIHER, Dr. Abhinand has over a decade of experience in teaching subjects like genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics algorithms, and research methodology. His research contributions include 16 peer-reviewed publications, with a notable h-index of 8 and 170 citations. Dr. Abhinand’s research interests span several fields, including biostatistics, machine learning, and metabolomics, where he applies computational techniques to solve complex biological problems. His technical skills include proficiency in structural bioinformatics toolkits (Schrodinger, Biovia, Autodock), molecular dynamic simulations (GROMACS, AMBER), and systems biology tools (Cytoscape, CellDesigner).
