Dr. K. Suganya holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Medical Physiology and has dedicated more than 12 years to teaching physiology at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Alongside her academic expertise, she also has two years of clinical experience as a Trauma Care Technologist at Mehta Hospital, Chetpet, Chennai, which strengthened her practical understanding of applied physiology in critical care settings. She has a strong research background with 12 years of experience in experimental and clinical physiology, particularly in the areas of stress and sleep physiology, autonomic function testing, nerve conduction studies, heart rate variability, pulmonary function testing, and evoked potentials (auditory and visual). Her contributions to science include 22 publications in indexed national and international journals and 8 paper presentations at prestigious national and international conferences. Committed to medical education, Dr. Suganya completed the Basic Course in Medical Education at Sri Ramachandra Medical College (the nodal center) in June 2023. She has also delivered three guest lectures on applied aspects of physiology and actively contributes to academic enrichment. Notably, she translated Chapters 5, 6, and 8 of Guyton & Hall Textbook of Medical Physiology (South Asian 3rd edition) into Tamil, enhancing accessibility of scientific knowledge to native learners. Through her teaching, clinical, and research pursuits, Dr. K. Suganya continues to make impactful contributions to the advancement of physiology and research.
