Dr. Poornima A S

Dr. Poornima A S is a seasoned academic with over 20 years of experience in management education. Her areas of expertise span Finance, Healthcare Analytics, and Social Media. She has been instrumental in the design and development of the B.Com (Hons) curriculum, aligning it with the National Education Policy to ensure relevance and academic rigor.

Her research primarily focuses on social media marketing, consumer behavior, and healthcare financing, and she has several publications in reputed Scopus-indexed journals. Dr. Poornima is also an active reviewer for international journals, including those under Elsevier, and has presented papers at prestigious conferences globally.

Beyond teaching, she mentors students in high-quality business research and analytics, fosters innovation in pedagogy, and contributes to institutional development through her leadership in academic and student affairs.

Educations

Dr. Poornima A S holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Production from the National Institute of Engineering, Mysore, graduating with First Class with Distinction (1991–1994). She completed her MBA with a specialization in Finance from the Department of Management Studies, University of Mysore, in First Class (1995–1997), along with a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from Karnataka State Open University during the same period. She qualified the UGC NET  in Management in 1999 with a permanent certification. From February 2012 to October 2016, she pursued her doctoral research at the Department of Management Studies, University of Madras, focusing on “The Impact of Social Media Marketing on Customer Relationships and Purchase and Loyalty Intentions on Facebook.” and was awarded her PhD in June 2018.
