Bio

Dr. Trinity Deepak Francis is currently an Assistant Professor, in the Department of Neonatology, SRIHER. He graduated from St. John’s Medical College, Bengaluru. During his course, he was the recipient of the Dr. Thomas Kalam Research Award and the H J Mehta Research Award.
Deciding to dedicate his career for the healthcare of children, he completed his post-graduation in M.D. Pediatrics, from Post-Graduate Institute for Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, where he was exposed to a plethora of cases with robust Clinico-Pathological Meets, conducted regularly. Here, he studied the population, for Trace Elements status of Infants with Vitamin B12 Deficiency and their mothers, using Inductively Coupled Plasma -Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS). The opportunity to work with stalwarts who pioneered Newborn care and trained others, inspired him to specialize in Neonatology.
An opportune moment enabled him to join Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry as a Non-Academic Senior Resident, in the Department of Neonatology. He remains grateful to the Institute for the learning opportunities provided including the one to contribute chapters to the NICU JIPMER Protocol Book. He also took part in the Medical Education Course for Senior Residents offered by the inhouse, Department of Medical Education.
He then joined AIIMS- Jodhpur for his D.M. Neonatology and worked on resuscitating neonates of perinatal asphyxia with intact placental circulation. He was actively involved in the TOTs for RBSK screening for the 4Ds among the children of the state of Rajasthan.

He also gained the certification for Advanced Prechtl’s General Movements Assessment. His areas of interest include critical care management and optimizing intact survival of preterm neonates and their follow-up.

Through ICNA, he access cutting-edge research, guidelines, and training opportunities, enabling to provide evidence-based care and support to young patients with neurological conditions.
