2.Assessment of Nutritional Risk Index and Prevalence of Malnutrition in Elderly Hospitalized Patients at a Tertiary care center: A prospective Study. Divya Malar Krishnasamy, Balaji Karunakaran, Velayutharaj Alwar, Thamarai Rajappa, Nivedha Pandiyan. International Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research 2023; 15(1); 531-537.

Completed Projects:

Assessing the Validity of Calculated LDL cholesterol in patients with hypothyroidism.

This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of the Friedewald and Anandaraja formulas in estimating LDL-C in patients with hypothyroidism, using directly measured LDL-C as the reference. The results will help identify the most dependable calculation method for this specific clinical group.

Ongoing Projects:

Predictive value of Triglyceride-Glucose (TyG) Index in Assessing Glycemic control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

The Triglyceride-Glucose index is derived from fasting triglyceride and glucose level. It has been discovered that the newtriglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, which is a product of triglycerides and fasting plasma glucose (FPG), correlates with both direct and surrogate markers of IR. Where TyG index is considered to be simple, cost effective and has a high efficacy in assessing glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Hence this study aims to evaluate the predictive value of Triglyceride -Glucose (TyG) index in Assessing Glycemic control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
