I am a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist specializing in Mental Health, with a strong foundation in holistic and evidence-based care. I hold a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy (Mental Health) from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, and a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from KMCH College of Occupational Therapy, Coimbatore.
With hands-on experience in pediatric, neurological, and mental health rehabilitation, I have demonstrated excellence in client evaluation, individualized treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. During my time as an Occupational Therapist at Happy Child Development Centre in Vijayawada, I supported children and families through therapeutic interventions tailored to developmental needs.
I am particularly passionate about trauma-informed care and parental support, which is reflected in my 2024 research study titled “Promoting Resilience and Reducing Stress: A Trauma-Informed Occupational Therapy Approach for Parents of Children with Autism.”

ABSTRACT
Background
Parenting children with autism can include unique challenges and stressors.
Occupational Therapists can support parents in recognizing how trauma influences their
child’s development and behavior, developing coping strategies for dealing with stress
and, building resilience.
Aim:
To examine the effectiveness of Trauma Informed Care intervention in
Occupational Therapy practice for improving resilience and reducing stress of Parents
of Autism children.
Methodology:
A total of 20 participants were randomly assigned to either a group 1 (n = 10)
or group 2 (n = 10). The group 1 received a 5-week Trauma Informed Care intervention,
and the group 2 engaged in self-coping strategies for the same duration.
Results:
Results shows that Post-intervention, the group 1 showed a significant reduction
in stress (PSS = 33.00 ± 3.197) and an increase in resilience (BRS = 4.180 ± 0.442),
compared to the group 2 (PSS = 44.20 ± 4.341; BRS = 3.398 ± 0.769), highlighting the
positive impact of the TIC intervention
The study concludes that Trauma Informed Care is an effective approach for reducing
stress and enhancing resilience in parents of autism children. By incorporating Trauma-
Informed approaches into Occupational Therapy to enhance parental well-being and
family dynamics.
