My research interest lies primarily in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing, with a particular focus on promoting maternal health through education, awareness, and family involvement. As part of my MSc Nursing program, I conducted a study titled “A descriptive study to assess the knowledge, attitude, and involvement regarding antenatal care and birth preparedness among spouses of pregnant women.” This research was inspired by the growing recognition of the spouse’s role in ensuring safe motherhood and positive pregnancy outcomes. I am especially interested in exploring areas such as antenatal education, birth preparedness, high-risk pregnancy management, postnatal care, and infection prevention during the perinatal period. I believe that integrating family-centered approaches and evidence-based nursing practices can greatly enhance the quality of obstetric care. My goal is to contribute to nursing research that supports holistic, respectful, and safe maternity care, while also empowering nurses to play a pivotal role in improving maternal and newborn outcomes.
Ms. Monika K has been an active member of the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI) since 2017.
