Effectiveness Of Action Observation Of Meaningful Task To Improve Upper Extremity Functions And Its Impact On Activities Of Daily Living In Patients With Multiple Sclerosis

This study investigates the effectiveness of Action Observation Therapy (AOT) using meaningful, goal-directed tasks to improve upper extremity function and enhance activities of daily living (ADL) in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). AOT leverages the mirror neuron system by having participants observe specific actions before performing them, thereby facilitating motor learning and functional recovery. In this experimental study design, participants in the experimental group engage in observation and execution of tasks that are personally relevant, while the control group receives conventional occupational therapy. Pre- and post-intervention assessments will be conducted to measure changes in upper limb function and ADL performance. The study aims to establish AOT as a patient-centred, cost-effective intervention strategy that supports neuroplasticity and functional independence in people with MS.
