Dr. R. Sumitha currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Sciences. She also holds the position of Assistant Dean of Students for the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences and Technology, the Faculty of Environmental Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Clinical Research since 2020. Responsible for handling papers for both undergraduate and graduate students for 17 years. She has authored two books and has 20 publications in indexed journals. Microbiology, immunology, and genetics are her academic specialties. Her area of clinical focus is cytogenetics and Molecular Diagnostics (active Team member in Cytogenetic and Molecular Cytogenetics in the Department of Human Genetics from 2007 – 2010.
