Research Interest

Our research focuses on the innovative use of collagen-based biomaterials in various biomedical applications, driven by collagen’s biocompatibility and structural versatility. We are particularly interested in:

  • Wound Healing and Skin Regeneration: Developing collagen scaffolds and hydrogels that promote rapid tissue repair, with a focus on chronic wounds and burn treatments.
  • Tissue Engineering: Exploring collagen composites for the regeneration of soft tissues, cartilage, and bone, incorporating biomimetic properties to enhance cellular interactions.
  • Drug Delivery Systems: Designing collagen hydrogels along with natural polymer especially using marine source for controlled drug release, ensuring targeted therapeutic effects in cancer treatments, Inflammatory Bowel Diseses and other localized therapies.
  • Regenerative Medicine: Investigating collagen scaffolds as platforms for stem cell differentiation and tissue regeneration, aiming to restore damaged tissues and organs.

My ongoing work aims to optimize the mechanical strength, bioactivity, and long-term stability of collagen biomaterials to better serve medical needs.
