The Department of Medical Education, Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (SRMC&RI), SRIHER, successfully organized SRIMEDCON 2026 – Sri Ramachandra International Medical Education Conference from 11th to 13th June 2026 at the University Auditorium, SRIHER (DU). The conference, themed “Empowering Faculty for Excellence in Medical Education,” brought together national and international experts, academicians, researchers, and healthcare educators to deliberate on contemporary trends and innovations in medical education.
Organized in a hybrid mode, the conference featured a series of preconference interactive workshops on topics such as academic mentoring and feedback in Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), simulation-based training, artificial intelligence in medical education and research, self-directed learning, and gamification in teaching-learning processes. These workshops provided participants with practical insights and hands-on learning experiences to enhance their teaching competencies.
The conference included plenary sessions, panel discussions, debates, and oral and poster presentations, offering a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, scholarly discussions, and dissemination of best practices in medical education. Distinguished speakers from reputed national and international institutions shared their expertise on diverse topics including active learning strategies, quality culture in education, professional identity formation, educational scholarship, reflective practice, programmatic assessment, community-based medical education, and the role of artificial intelligence in medical education.
SRIMEDCON 2026 aimed to foster knowledge sharing, innovation, networking, quality improvement, research dissemination, and student engagement, thereby strengthening academic scholarship and advancing excellence in medical education. The conference also provided participants with opportunities to showcase their research through oral and poster presentations, encouraging scholarly collaboration and innovation in medical education.
