The NSS Unit of SRIHER (DU) conducted its Annual Advisory Committee Meeting

The NSS Unit of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (DU) conducted its Annual Advisory Committee Meeting on 11th June 2026 to review the activities undertaken during the previous academic year and discuss future plans. The meeting commenced with the Vice Chancellor welcoming the members present in the committee and briefed about the action taken report of the previous year, madam also invited suggestions for strengthening NSS activities. Dr. Anitha Rani, Professor, Department of Community Medicine and NSS Programme Coordinator made presentation on the annual activities for the period from July 2025- May 2026. After which, Dr.Chellaiah, the Regional Director, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, applauded the activities performed by the NSS Unit of SRIHER, and said that performing 69 collaborative, community, awareness, healthcare programmes in a year is extraordinary, followed by him was the Liason officer Dr. Gunanidhi also appreciated the tremendous efforts taken by the Unit. Besides, two other member of the committee Mr.Roop Chandar and  Dr.Raja Hussain former NSS Coordinator University of Madras  also appreciated the efforts taken by the University supporting the Unit to extend their service towards the community. Members appreciated the holistic community service approach, including activities in adopted villages, newsletter publication, and volunteer achievements. A proposal was made to organise more NSS camps and programmes within the university campus. The meeting concluded with recommendations to pursue state and national-level awards and recognition for the outstanding work of the NSS units and volunteers.
