VALEDICTORY FUNCTION PELVIC HEALTH

The Department of Women’s Health ,Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Physiotherapy successfully organized a week-long series of events in observance of World Continence Week 2026, aimed at creating awareness about continence care, promoting early screening, and fostering community engagement. The week  featured a variety of academic, educational, and outreach activities that brought together healthcare professionals, students, researchers, and members of the public to highlight the importance of continence health and rehabilitation.The celebrations culminated in a grand Valedictory Ceremony held on 25th June 2026, which witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 250 attendees, including faculty members,clinicians, students, alumni, patients, caregivers and invited guests. The event served as a platform to reflect on the week's achievements and reinforce the significance of continence care as an integral component of healthcare.The ceremony was presided by Mrs. Samyuktha venkataachalam, Trustee SRIHER, Dr. Uma Sekar, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sonali Santhanam, Founder Birth Basix, Chennai along with other officials of the University. A key highlight of the ceremony was the Keynote Address delivered by Dr.Sonali santhanam, who shared valuable insights on urinary incontinence in women, emphasizing its prevalence, impact on quality of life, and the need for timely identification and management. Dr.Sonali santhanam ,underscored the importance of routine screening, patient education, and early intervention in addressing continence-related concerns. Her engaging presentation highlighted the role of healthcare professionals in breaking societal stigma, encouraging help-seeking behavior, and advocating for comprehensive continence care services. Prize distribution was organized for the E poster winners. Total of 9 winners from different colleges of Tamilnadu were the awardees.
