Research Focus

The research focus of our lab centres around studying the bioavailability enhancement of poorly water-soluble drugs and the formulation development of novel drug delivery systems.

We are currently focussing on the formulation development of novel drug delivery systems such as:

  • Targeted Drug Delivery System (TDDS), including:
    • Stimuli-sensitive drug delivery systems
    • Liposomes
    • Niosomes
    • Nanoparticles
    • Microbeads
    • Nanocochleates
    • Dendrimers
  • Nanocomposites using biopolymers and carbon nanotubes for drug delivery
  • Nerve regeneration through nerve conduit systems
  • Wound healing, especially for diabetic mellitus-related conditions
