Personal Profile
Dr. Soumya Vasu earned her Ph.D. in 2016 from Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswavidyalayam, Tirupathi, and
completed her M.Pharm from JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty. She is a GPAT qualifier and brings
15 years of teaching and research experience across esteemed institutions.
In 2022, she joined SRIHER as an Assistant Professor, where she received an
intramural research grant to pursue studies on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
Dr. Soumya has filed two patents and has numerous peer-reviewed publications to her credit.
Research
Dr. Soumya’s laboratory focuses on the development of synthetic drugs targeting PINI enzymes.
Additionally, her research explores the isolation and characterization of natural phytoconstituents
for the treatment of PCOS and related metabolic disorders.
