Centre for Early Childhood Caries Research (CECCRe)

The Centre for Early Childhood Caries Research (CECCRe) focuses on understanding the disease process of Early Childhood Caries (ECC) at both the population and individual levels. Our investigations include examining host factors such as enamel characteristics, oral soft tissue features, and morphological traits of teeth.

  1. OXIS Classification – The first classification system for interproximal contacts proposed by the centre.
  2. Sustained Anticipatory Guidance (SAG) – A novel concept introduced to aid in the prevention of Early Childhood Caries.
  3. MAAC Charts – An innovative educational tool designed to help stakeholders (parents, healthcare providers, dentists, etc.) identify Early Childhood Caries at an early stage.
