Dr. S.J. Nalini, M.Sc.(N), PhD, has been serving as the Professor & Principal at the Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Nursing. She earned her PhD in 2011 from Sri Ramachandra University for her research on the “Effectiveness of educative supportive nursing interventions on clinical indicators and behavioral adherence among women with cervical abnormalities.”

Research Highlights
She and her team have successfully completed an international collaborative project titled “Cross National Understanding of Terminal Suffering among Hospitalized South Asians,” funded by the GATE grant. Three research papers resulting from this work received bursary travel grant awards from the Palliative Care Congress, UK.
Currently, Dr. Nalini is:
- Principal Investigator in two ICMR-funded research projects
- Co-Investigator in a research project funded by the Nidhi Prayas Grant
Ongoing Project
One of her ongoing studies, funded by the Department of Health Research – Grant-in-Aid (GIA), evaluates the effectiveness of the Family-Integrated Lactation Management (FILM) concept through a randomized control trial. The FILM model includes:
- Individualized lactation support
- Demonstration and simulation-based training for fathers and primary caregivers
- Proactive follow-up lactation support
Proposed Outcomes: Exclusive breastmilk feeding rate and infant growth outcomes.
