Gold medals, awards and recognition to students, teachers, researchers and staff marked the Founder’s Day and University Day event at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research here today.
For meritorious performance in MBBS, Ms. P.R.Veena & Ms. Sanjana V. got four gold medals each. In all 38 gold medals were given.
Dr. N. Sanjeeva Reddy, former HoD and presently Professor, Reproductive Medicine and Surgery was given life time achievement award. Dr. A. Ravi, Professor, General Surgery, Prof. N. Venkatesh, Physiotherapy, Mr. D. Lakshmi Narayanan, General Manager, Accounts and Mr. V.Jeevanandam, Manager, Campus were given outstanding service award, Dr. S. J. Nalini, Principal, Faculty of Nursing was given mentoring excellence award, Dr. K. Balaji Singh, Dean, Medical College was given teaching excellence award and Dr. P. Venkatachalam, HoD, Genetics was given the senior research excellence award.
The Chancellor Mr.V. R.Venkataachalam, Pro Chancellor Mr.R.V.Sengutuvan and Trustee, Sri Ramachandra Educational & Health Trust, Ms. Samyuktha Venkataachalam gave away gold medals and awards to best students, teachers, nurses, research scholars, sports persons, NSS & NCC volunteers and alumni. Staff who completed long years of service were given gold medals.
Dr. JSN Murthy, Professor, Cardiology and former vice chancellor, paid rich tributes to Founder Chancellor Sri NPV Ramasamy Udayar. Dr. Uma Sekar, Vice Chancellor welcomed the gathering.
