The 2024 batch of MBBS and BDS students began their medical education at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research here today, welcomed and escorted by senior students, faculty and management led by the Chancellor Mr. V. R. Venkataachalam. The event anchored by the Students Council exhibited warmth and cordiality even as they emphasized and underlined discipline in various aspects.
Speaking on the occasion the Vice Chancellor Dr. Uma Sekar said the infrastructure and ambiance at SRIHER offers the young students to mature into skilled and humane doctors to serve the people. There are 48 PG courses in medical and 8 PG courses in Dental education, she added.
Dr. K.Balaji Singh, Dean, Medical College said second and third generation students have been joining SRIHER and this year children of 12 alumni students have joined the course.
Dr. K.V. Somasundram, Chief Advisor, Academic, Dr. H. Tamizhchelvan, Dean Dental College, Dr. Leena Dennis Joseph, Dean Students and Ms. Sadhana Amarnath, President of the Students Council were among those who participated in the event.
