Traffic rules awareness drive by rotaract club of SRIHER

In observance with the “Zero is Good” initiative by the Greater Chennai Traffic Police, a traffic rules awareness campaign aiming to achieve zero road accidents, improve road safety among drivers and general public to promote responsible driving practices was organised by Rotaract Club of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) in association with Rotary club of Madras Porur at Chennai Anna Nagar Rountana on Saturday the 24th August.

The students performed mime depicting various scenarios to spread awareness to the public commuters for four hours on road. Other activities like holding placards with safety signs were also done to ensure to avoid distractions, obey traffic signals like stop signs, red lights, wear seatbelts / helmets and to maintain the speed limit.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. P. Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic North. Mr. C.K. Ravi, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Anna Nagar, Rtn. M. Ambalavanan, District Chair Public, Rtn. Ravi Venkataraman, Additional Chairman, Road Safety, Rtn. Rajeshwari, Rtn. Jiji and Rtn. Sivasankari along with Rtn. Dr. D. C Mathangi, Faculty Coordinator were among those who attended the event.
