Understand basic neurological examination thoroughly.
Acquire knowledge in the physiology of pre and post-operative care for neurosurgical patients.
Diagnose, plan investigations, and treat common conditions in the specialty using current therapeutic methods.
Acquire knowledge of indications and performance skills for common neurosurgical operations.
Perform minor neurosurgical procedures independently.
Possess performance skills and the ability to interpret relevant clinical and radiological investigations.
Show evidence of learning and progressively responsible in patient management
Perform basic cranial and spine surgery in both adult and pediatric patients.
Familiarise oneself with allied and general clinical disciplines to ensure appropriate referrals.
Develop further the knowledge base in clinical neurosurgery.
Augment skills and become proficient in the management of complex neurosurgical conditions.
Be comfortable with most neurosurgical cases and perform surgery with moderate supervision.
Be involved in basic science neurolab and complete anatomical and biomechanical projects.
Develop a knowledge base concerning more complex neurosurgical procedures.
Learn fundamentals of head trauma, spinal cord injury, and critical care management.
Become proficient in basic post-operative neurosurgical management.
Demonstrate the capability to impart basic neurosurgical training.
Be well-versed in current literature related to basic, investigative, clinical, and operative neurosciences and be able to formulate a research project.
Identify, frame, and execute research proposals in the relevant specialty.
Develop essential skills in conducting medical research, presenting findings in scientific forums, and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Evolve into an effective communicator with patients, their families, colleagues, and students.
Formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
