I have been involved in Critical Care practice from 1991, initially in a private teaching institution and Since 2016 at Sri Ramachandra Institute. I have always been interested in the education of superspecialists in my field. I have focused on clinical research in Critical Care and my areas of interest include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, bedside ultrasonography and infections.
My strength has always been as an educator in the speciality and I have been responsible for the growth of the Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine of the ISCCM. I have also been responsible for the initial development of the Curriculum for the Fellowship in Critical Care awarded by the National Board of Education. I have been on the Executive Committee of the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine and served as its President 2004-2006.
