Dr Nidarsan completed postgraduation in MD Pharmacology from SRIHER, Chennai with Gold medal in MD Final University examination in 2021. He joined the Department of Pharmacology, SRIHER in the same year as Senior Resident. Dr Nidarsan is currently working as Assistant Professor with a passion for teaching and research in basic science. Dr Nidarsan is a member of Hospital Quality Assurance Division (HQAD)-G block, Faculty Quality Cell(FQC), University Internal Assessment Cell (IA Cell), Editorial committee- SRMC PHARMVIGIL, Fire and Safety Committee, Research Publications Scrutinizing committee and Sports Committee in charge faculty- SRMC.
His areas of academic interests include pharmacovigilance, materiovigilance ,medical education, clinical trials and invitro cell line studies. He has held role of Pharmacology subject in charge and coordinator for courses like MBBS Phase II, Bsc Courses and Msc Courses. He has been a speaker, moderator and judge in various Pharmacology postgraduate academic programmes. He was the organizing secretary of ASPIRE 2023- Annual Rapid Review Course for MD Pharmacology postgraduates from across the country . Dr Nidarsan is a Lifetime member of National Association of Pharmacology and Therapeutics
Apart from academics, Dr Nidarsan is a member of SRIHER University Faculty Cricket and Football team and have represented the university in various intra and inter university tournaments in IIT Directors Trophy at IIT Madras, Prof Bennet Albert Cricket Tournament at MCC, Tambaram ,Tamil Nadu Doctors Premier League(TNDPL).
Dr Nidarsan completed M.B.B.S in 2015 from Sree Gokulam Medical College and Research Foundation, Venjaramoodu,Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and M.D. Pharmacology with Gold Medal in 2021 from Sri Ramachandra Institute Of Higher Education and Research, Porur, Chennai.
Bcl-2 family of proteins play a key role in regulation of apoptosis. They are currently being targeted as a promising therapeutic opportunity in cancer therapy. Venetoclax is a highly selective inhibitor of Bcl-2 protein which is approved in treatment of hematological malignancies. The evidence related to effectiveness of Bcl-2 inhibitors in solid tumors is yet to be established. Hence the potential role of venetoclax in treatment of solid tumors is being investigated in this study using PA -1 ovarian cancer cell line.
