Sriher students debate ‘One Nation One Poll’

Students of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher education and Research today had a lively debate on “one nation one poll” proposal. Inaugurating it Mr. R. Girirajan, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha said that today’s youth should discuss issues before the nation and take active participation in politics and elections. Recalling the sacrifices of great leaders like Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru in whose name the Nehru Yuvak Kendra has been founded he said to preserve the vibrant Indian democracy today’s youth, especially medical professionals should take active interest. Speaking on the occasion Vice Chancellor Dr. Uma Sekar asked all eligible students to be enlisted as voters and vote in the coming Lokh Sabha elections. Dr. K. Balaji Singh, Dean Medical College said currently five alumni of SRIHER are members of parliament.

Mr. Saravanan, Kancheepuram District officer of NehruYuvak Kendra, Mr. Jai Bheem Gopinath, district advisory committee member, NYKS and Dr. Anita Rani, NSS Coordinator, SRIHER were among those who participated in the event.
